Dr Fred Ushakov has over 30 years’ experience working in fetal medicine and has vast expertise in ultrasound techniques. He has a particular interest in the training and support of doctors in other countries to help them to protect and preserve the health of mothers and unborn babies. His special interests are in the field of Cardiac Malformations, Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, Congenital Disorders, Maternal and Fetal Medicine, Myelomeningocele, Obstructive Uropathy, Sacrococcygeal Teratoma, Twin-twin Transfusion Syndrome.

- Primary Medical Qualification;
- Vrach 1987 1st Leningrad Medical Institute (Russia) Medical Degree.
Qualifications
Dr Ushakov has been appointed as an Ambassador of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He has a particular interest in the training and support of doctors in other countries to help them to protect and preserve the health of mothers and unborn babies. He runs, with the support of ISUOG, many ultrasound and fetal medicine courses in the UK, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Peru, Portugal, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine, where many doctors have no opportunity to participate in expensive international congresses and courses.
Biography
Dr Fred Ushakov is Founder and Managing Director of City Ultrasound. He is founder of the London School of Ultrasound, where he has lectured doctors and sonographers from more than 100 countries. He founded the Early Fetal Scan Conference, a scientific event that seeks to raise awareness among professionals to recognise and manage different fetal abnormalities. He also works part-time at the UCLH Fetal Medicine Unit, having gained recognition as the most skilled ultrasound operator. He speaks English and Russian.
